March 5th, 2010By: Kristen Grieco
If you missed the screening last night, you also missed a panel discussing teen pregnancy afterwards. But that’s OK, because Boston.com is kind enough to recap it for you.
Screening a Success!

The Gloucester Daily Times on “The Gloucester 18″
March 1st, 2010By: Kristen Grieco
Check out today’s story in the Gloucester Daily Times.
“What we saw in the film was the true spectrum of what happens in teen pregnancy,” said Dr. Brian Orr, who directed Gloucester High’s health clinic as the 2007-2008 pregnancy spike unfolded.
“What played out here is not the pregnancy pact, but the reality of what happens with teen pregnancies,” he said. “It’s not a pretty picture.”
As a former reporter for the GDT, it was great to have our work featured there.
“Mandatory viewing”: Yvonne Abraham writes about “The Gloucester 18″
March 1st, 2010By: Kristen Grieco
Boston Globe columnist Yvonne Abraham today wrote a column about “The Gloucester 18.” She pointed readers to the importance of dealing with the causes of teen pregnancy, instead of getting caught up in media frenzy.
Not to be confused with the recent, lame Lifetime docudrama based on the story, this documentary catches up with some of the girls two years after the hysteria. The film, being shown at the Kendall Square Cinema this Thursday, should be mandatory viewing for every teen in the country.
We’ve had great response to the Kendall Square screening, sponsored by the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy. Click here for more information.
